Warning: Spoilers
Never really considered how heavy of an impact a rumor like this might have to a girl Laura's age. I appreciate the brotherly love Eddie showed in this episode. You don't get to see that side of him too often. I would have given the episode a seven but dropped it down a point due to the disappointment that Laura once again falls for the smooth talker over someone who genuinely cares about her. It makes her look really shallow, and frankly, she's smarter than that.

I NEVER liked Ted

Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler - at the end of the episode (as his life is being "threatened" by Eddie) Ted claims that he never said that he scored, however Steve flat out tells him that there is No Way Laura would ever sleep with him and to say that nothing happened on the date. To which Ted responds with "Well something DID happen". How is that not starting the rumor himself? His friends may have initially been trying to pressure him to confirm his "ladies man" status but I doubt it would have hit the rumor mill the way that it did had he not said the actual words and "fought" Steve over the issue. While I understand that having someone obsessed over someone I'm dating would be jarring, it always seemed like Ted legitimately hated Steve from day 1 except when the script needed him to seem like a good guy. The only good thing about Ted is his cousin 😉

Warning: Spoilers
He stood there with his bare face hanging out, and had the nerve to ask Eddie: "What's the matter?" Very clever, how Eddie took that line from Carl's lecture, and redirected it to Ted. As for Laura (or Kellie): She cried, and she nearly made me cry. Laura gets to me. Not hard at all, to see why Steve loved her so much. The rumor that Ted starts about having "scored" with Laura. Should we believe it is just a rumor? In Laura's case, yes. I'm a big Laura/Kellie S. Fan. You couldn't pay me to think anything negative about her. Some other reviewers criticize Laura. They're all wrong! Laura is the greatest! Two important points stand out, in this episode. When Steve told Laura what Ted and company said about her, she accused Steve of lying. She had to know, in her heart, that Steve never would lie to her. At the end of the episode, Steve asks her: "Want to get married?" She replies: "Steve, I'm only 15 years old!" Is this an appropriate response to this guy that she is supposedly not interested in? She didn't answer the question, but her response was closer to "yes" than to "no." I love it!

Warning: Spoilers
Steve Urkle's character really starts to dominate this season to the detriment of the other characters. This episode is a prime example Laura's boyfriends friends are pressuring him to tell them if him and Laura are having sex. Steve rushes over to hear whats happened so he hears everything, the boyfriend refuses to say anything about her and calls them childish. His friends keep harassing him about it saying they must have had sex and he tells them off, so they say oh he's lost it and he says that no one can resist him. Steve takes this and runs with it literally, he jumps in the guys face hits him and get shoved into his locker. When Laura lets him out he LIES and says that the guy was telling his friends all about him and Laura having sex... Mind you he heard the whole conversation and KNEW his friends were the ones insisting it not her bf. But he never tells her this EVEN at the end of the episode, its a perfect example of how Steve never faces the consequences of his actions. In the earlier seasons he did and his behavior wasn't as grating but this time he just went too far and I'm sure it will only get worse from here. If only they let things carry over into other episodes, this was just swept under the carpet way too fast.

Rumor Has It (#4.4)

Warning: Spoilers
There were lots of good episodes lately. I guess it was time to bring a chauvinistic one.

Ted makes his friends think that he slept with Laura. Oh what a horror for people to think that, girls should not have sex, only guys like it ! Pathetic but of course well reflecting that time. The confrontation was laughable. Especially when Ted calls his friends dorks and tells Laura that no matter how long it takes, he will make it up to her. This looked like an after school special

What I did like was the scene of good cop/bad cop when Carl and Harriet get out of Eddie what he did
