The disenchanted spy.

Generally, the best episodes of "The F.B.I." are those involving espionage, and this one is no exception. It's quite enjoyable and a tad unusual because one of the spies is having problems with his conscience.

When the show begins, Karl is romancing Julie in a local restaurant. During this meal Karl receives a phone call...it's his wife! It seems that she doesn't know that Karl is working on a case for his communist overlords...he's trying to turn Julie and turn her into a communist asset. But the wife might get in the way of this plan, so Karl asks his handler to stop his wife from coming to see him...at least for now. Well, they took it to mean that they should kill her to keep her from accidentally destroying his mission...and they do. Now Karl is angry and having mixed thoughts about making Julie a spy. Will her handler get around to killing her next? And, can the FBI stop them before Julie betrays her country?

This is an engaging story about a reluctant spy...an unusual story and one worth seeing. I did find it odd, however, that they chose Antoinette Bower to play the American, as she's a German-American and has a bit (just a bit) of an accent.

By the way, early in the show look at the chalk outline on the floor....it looks a lot like a Roswell alien!
