When the story begins, Laura is shopping for a necktie for Rob. The man waiting on her is Happy Spangler, a guy who used to be Rob's boss back years ago on radio. When Rob learns about Happy working in a tie store, he goes to see him and offers Happy a job working on "The Alan Brady Show". Unfortunately, Happy is way out of touch as he hasn't worked in comedy in 15 years...and soon Happy becomes more a distraction than a help to the staff. What is Rob to do...especially since Sally and Buddy insist that Happy be fired?
It was odd to see Happy played by Jay C. Flippen...a fine actor BUT someone not known for comedy. Regardless, the episode still works and Rob's performance near the end of the show is a treat.
