A woman is writing some magazine article about Alan Brady and has asked Rob to meet her for lunch. At first, it goes well, and Rob is very careful to spread credit for the show all around...such as to Buddy, Sally and Alan himself. However, when Laura arrives and joins them, she undoes everything Rob has said and essentially infers that the show's success is entirely Rob's! And, when the article is published, it sounds as if it was written by Laura...giving all the credit to Rob. Not surprisingly, Buddy, Sally and Alan are hurt and angry...and Rob is lucky he isn't fired.
While this is a funny episode, it's also one that shows that somehow Laura isn't savvy about show business at all and SHOULD have taken a much more tactful approach when talking about Rob and his co-workers. Laura's naive outlook is surprising considering she's married to a comedy show writer!
