Her new car is power!
mark.waltz12 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just like her fake breasts from an earlier season, Mary Jo turns macho when she gets a masculine car. It's the same type of car that her ex-husband Ted bought after their divorce that she had earlier ridiculed him for. That happens after her sensible station wagon is sideswiped by a beer truck, telling Mary Jo that she needs to get a more fun-loving car. The main story goes to the new character, B. J., her first real story since coming on as a partner, closing out her late husband's safety deposit box and finding a love letter from a woman named Carolyn. Considering the fact that James died on the day of their wedding, B. J. really has nothing to worry about especially since he was the one with all the money and she was only a court stenographer. Still, she wants to know who this woman was. The actress playing the old lady in the mausoleum (Jeanette Miller) resembles Meg Wyllie who played two characters on the show in earlier seasons. A good acting job by Ivey, one of the best theater actresses of the past 30+ years.
