Sappy but I lived for it

Wow! Um I hate that I cried but ya that happened. There were so many sappy moments and overall it was just a tearjerker and I feel like the series could have ended here. I'm really glad there are two more seasons tho. Which is a sign of greatness.

Back to the basics...

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode, because it kind of sorts out all of the show's past mistakes. And it is full of throwbacks from its best moments. They even went as having Dawson and Joey's hair look exactly the same as it did back then. It also shows how characters changed over the years, which is refreshing compared to all these shows, where they basically run in circles to not offend some idealistic, yet unrealistic expectations, from its fandom. The tear jerker moments are not as tacky as it was lately, and I liked that little dig at seasons post Williamson's departure. They were definitely a big fat never ending soap opera. Season 4 is good at capturing last year of high school's anxieties, and the uncertainties and excitement for college. And this episode enhanced it the best, in a more poised and reflective way. Like they did precisely on the early seasons. Ending it the way the big season 1 finale did, was bold. But also to have this particular chapter come full circle. When as we can see, next seasons main protagonist happens to be Joey Potter, who's being offered one last moment of comfort on her best friend/soulmate's world...

Warning: Spoilers
Today is May, 23 2023. I don't know why, but I missed this episode exactly 22 years ago. I just watched and it took me to another time of my life. What a beautiful episode. Beautiful and sad at the same time. It looked like a series finale, not season finale, because it was a very emotional episode. Watching Dawson and Joey saying goodbye to each other, listening to Daydream Believer on the background, was a powerful scene. It amazes me how young but talented Katie Holmes already was! It was also nice to see Dawson and Pacey being nice to each other after all that happened during seasons 3 and 4.
