Although the cast of THE LAST HUNTERS included such screen luminaries as OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND, RICHARD TODD and DANE CLARK, it's hard to work up any enthusiasm for the rather uninspired results.
Even Miss de Havilland admitted that she was disappointed in the way the whole thing evolved and was never that fond of this made-for-TV movie. You can get an idea of the plot outline from the main page, but it never made the situations anything more than routinely suspenseful, despite the good performances of Todd, Clark and de Havilland. She would have much better results in the TV film she made a few years later called THE SCREAMING WOMAN and taken from a Ray Bradbury tale, which became a very popular ABC Movie of the Week.
Haven't seen this one in years; it never seems to turn up on any of the cable TV stations, as far as I know.
