Possibly the show's best episode.

Ash and his men are tasked with dealing with Hitler's latest means of death and destruction, the butterfly bomb, a device of long range, one that causes serious damage.

Butterfly Winter is definitely a contender for best episode of the show, it brings together some chilling, real life events with some intriguing character play.

Plenty of talking points here, the bomb itself, the bravery of some, and work dodging of others, Salt's relationship woes, and of course his subsequent demise.

They really weren't afraid to change things up, and write out characters, that was the nature of the beast I guess.

Some laughs and lighter moments from the unit's newest recruit, he gets his spot on the stage of course, very good.

Quality acting from all concerned, here though I really did think that Kenneth Cranham shone through.

Still a terrific episode.

9/10.

One of the best

One of the best episodes. The addition of a new bomb type shakes it all up no end and there's a fine mix of suspense and character-building. Things end on a high in this one, that's for sure.
