Bernard Hepton plays eccentric sound recordist Cyril Fitton. He records the sounds of animals and birds. He also wants stories of old country folk.
Sam quits his job and goes to work for Cyril. However when Catweazle hears the strange sounds inside Cyril's caravan, he thinks that he is being murdered by a sorcerer and rushes off to tell Carrot.

Hepton was an actor who I remember from more serious roles but he is really good here as the wacky Cyril Fitton. It is not as good as the earlier episodes in the series but it was funny to see Catweazle trying to get sound from the yards of tape he took with him.
