When in the West...
mitchrmp6 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
One can already assume that if you live in the West (as seen on TV), your family, friends, and enemies are all going to turn on you. This episode showed just how loving family can be. We have Josh, who was "like a son" to the Senator, and we have his daughter. The ending gave quite a shock. One person wasn't involved in the scheme which absolutely surprised me. The person I thought was left in the dark was the mastermind behind the whole thing!!!

This episode takes us away from the other characters. Peter gets the whole stage in this episode, and he of course shows off his lawyer smarts - and shows us why he was the 'left over Culhane," as Josh Holt so kindly put it!

Senator McQueen
Prismark1020 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Senator McQueen was once a powerful man but age is catching up with him. Some say he has gone loco, no longer having his faculties.

The Senator claimed that his ranch foreman Josh Holt who he treated like a son, daughter Susan and English son in law Michael Kent have taken his ranch from him. Tricked him to sign his land over after he was recovering from a fall.

Senator McQueen wants Clay Culhane the gunslinger not the lawyer. The Harvard educated foreman called him the leftover Culhane.

The Senator reluctantly decides to place his faith in the law but to no avail. The trio had a watertight case. It is upsetting for Clay as he once carried a torch for Susan.

Then new light is shed on the matter. Maybe Susan is not what she seems.

A story of greed and betrayal. Susan did not want to hang around until her father died. She planned with Josh to cheat her father out of the ranch and the cattle.

Amazingly son in law Michael (Patrick Macnee) had no idea and is the only one with class.
