Stolen Car Steals The Show
sambase-3877329 January 2022
"It makes the Batmobile look like a skateboard!" gushes Darrin Stevens, ogling the amazing car sitting in his driveway, a gift from Endora, his mother-in-law. She saw him looking at a picture of the car in a magazine and zapped it into his driveway. Not to be nice, just to mess with his head.

I'm not going to lie folks the car steals the show in this episode. It's not easy to steal the show from beautiful Samantha, a ravishing beauty with magical powers and a heart of gold, the woman of every man's dreams, but this car really does. It's an absolute beauty. And one of a kind. Not even on the market yet.

Darrin thinks that the car is a duplicate, whipped up by Endora's witchy powers, but it's actually the real car. Yep. She stole it. And that sets up the drama of this very fun episode.

Normally, Darrin rejects anything whipped up by magic, but he is so smitten with the car that he agrees to keep it for a little while. He basically falls in love with the car. Which is fine, but that's a problem if the car is stolen. You don't want to be caught with a stolen car sitting in your driveway. Especially a one-of-a-kind priceless masterpiece that isn't even available for sale yet.

Even though the car steals the show there is plenty of other good stuff to enjoy. There are the wonderful scenes between the two car designers who can't figure out what happened to the car. There is the wacky client who wants McMann & Tate to bring his product "into the space age". His product is sausages. He wants to use the car as the symbol. He's a real goofball, but funny.

Okay, I'll stop there, I don't want to spoil the big surprises. This episode is a Bewitched classic. I give it a "10".
