There were some continuing episodes in the series through the years, and this was one of them, all about Granny, Ellie May and Miss Jane (especially!) declaring their rights! And justly, especially Miss Jane who had to contend with Mr. Drysdale's outraegous schemes and put downs.
Here, Granny and Ellie May return home after a walk-out and team up with Japanaese Miko Mayama. Miko at the time was living with Burt Reynolds, who she met while working with him in a film, and actually learned to speak English watching BUGS BUNNY cartoons! She had mentioned this on talk shows. It paid off, as she was cast in many top tv shows, and was a good actress.
Terrific scene has Jed, dressed for Japanese tea, dining with Miko and Ellie May, stylished dressed as a Gisha Girl! Note that the series must have had a new hair stylist, as the cast had nice hair doos, especailly Elly May's black wig, who looked stunning.
Japanese actor Fuji makes as an appearance as Mr. Bonzai, chopping a car in half and busting down doors. This had to have been a gag lifted from the days of Laurel and Hardy, especially as you can see it's a junk car!
