Multiple inaccuracies
debbievida7 March 2019
Not recommend as purchase for education. Seems developed hastily prior to the bicentennial for profit but not accuracy. Though some scenery and wildlife shots are of quality, this 44 min. production is riddled with a poor and contradictory script, implausible clothing and inaccurate Native artifacts, errors in maps and even in the credits. For example, on the "Oregon" side of the Continental Divide the canoes should not be going against the current. Wearing white pants throughout is non-sensical, while hunting in red hats would be life threatening. Indigenous tribal wear is atrocious culturally, as is portraying in 1806 two different flags simultaneously. Far too much is wrong here compared to much better productions available from pbs, etc.
