DER KOMMISSAR Episode with Erik SCHUMANN
ZeddaZogenau22 March 2024
In the episode "Die Waggonspringer / The Waggonjumpers" (1969), a gang of thieves from Munich demonstrated on the West German television program ZDF what rogues around Los Angeles do today with packages from the big AMAZON. So throw packages out of the train and then pick up the contents! As the boss of the gang, Erik SCHUMANN (1925-2007), a real film star of the West German film industry of the 1950s and 1960s, can be seen in this early episode of DER KOMMISSAR.

Whether it's a local film (JOHANNIS NACHT, 1956), a Heinz ERHARDT comedy (the film NATÜRLICH DIE AUTOFAHRER / NATURLICH THE CAR DRIVER, 1959, shot in Göttingen), a war film (NACHT FIEL ÜBER GOTENHAFEN / DARKNESS FELL ON GOTENHAFEN, 1960) or a trash pearl (DAS RASTHAUS DER GRAUSAMEN PUPPEN / THE REST HOUSE OF THE CRUEL DOLLS, 1967): The handsome Saxon always cut a good figure.

As a dubbing actor, he was also the German voice of the most popular Hollywood stars. He spoke for Cary GRANT in BRINGING UP BABY and voiced Tony CURTIS as he allowed himself to be seduced in every way by the stunner Marilyn MONROE in SOME LIKE IT HOT. Just thinking about it makes your glasses fog up! ;-)
