Plot holes

Everyone in Baywatch seems to be ridiculously good-looking... except for Hobie's mom, who somehow scores Mitch as a first husband, then a multi-millionaire who looks like a Ken Doll. That's a stretch. As for good-looking people, did anyone else remember the ridiculously good-looking female pilot from part 1 of this episode? Apparently everyone involved in writing this forgot that she existed after she ditches the plane in the ocean. All efforts are about rescuing the 3 passengers... the lifeguards prepare 3 air cylinders to take down for them, but none for the pilot? Is she assumed to have died instantly? If so, no one cares? No one mentions her? Didn't anyone else watching this wonder about her?
