Herk Harvey directed this educational short film about the geography and life in this area of the world. Haiti is featured prominently in the film. Labor, commercial farming, crops, farm communities, activities of daily living, lack of education, beliefs, trade, buildings, crafts, and tourism are discussed in relation to Haiti. Trinidad with its steel drums and calypso music, architectural, business, and population diversity make it an interesting place to visit. The Hindu culture has a foothold in Trinidad as well. As expected, fishing is a major industry among the islands, but asphalt and petroleum products are common too. **1/2 of 4 stars.
