An independent film-making triumph!
khalle752 December 2004
I had the opportunity of viewing High Ground. To my astonishment, I discovered this film's special effects to be far superior to most independent motion pictures I have seen in recent years. Although this is not a masterpiece, it definitely is quite stunning in it's attempt to create spaceships, space stations and some visually stunning combats. The storyline is a bit convoluted and difficult to follow, nevertheless it is pretty visually narrative to understand the contents. The performance of the actors could be better, but taking into consideration the time and the labor that has gone into the film is pretty ballsy. The overall look and feel of the movie is almost studio quality, but I did not see any big logos in the beginning of the film. Therefore I do give all the credit to the people who has assembled this fine film.

Great Visuals
novanite2 December 2004
I enjoyed High Ground, especially its stunning visuals. I often wonder about exuberant motion picture budgets as I read all these fantastic articles about making special-effects oriented films. In the process of my research, I discovered an astonishing fact about the movie High Ground. This picture was shot entirely electronically and within the confinement of a huge greenscreen stage. Most of its actors had to work with virtually no sets. Its special effects are great, however the story is extremely weak and the acting is rather annoying. The premise of the picture does bring all of the effects to its full maturity. Overall, its a fine little picture.
