Carly was devastated to discover her cafe had been vandalised! Shona was gutted until a bloke coincidentlly turned up offering a security service. Both Shona and Carly were charmed by him but Jimmy and Ewan were less impressed - the bloke was Graham McLaverty, one of Lenny's enemies and the guy Ewan recently sent packing. Shona shook on a deal with Graham but quickly changed her mind when she found out who he was and realised his guys must've smashed up the place in the first place. She hired another security firm who were quickly scared off. She rallied support from the community centre committee. Scarlett was convinced Lenny was behind it all but was put in her place by Lydia. McLaverty threatened Carly and the ladies of Shieldinch tried to put up a fight. They were no match for the brutes though, and soon Scarlett and Shona were being violently pushed around. Lydia tipped Lenny a wink, and he and Ewan rushed to the rescue. They saw the thugs off and Scarlett was forced to grudgingly acknowledge they'd saved the day. Lenny reckons it won't be long before McLaverty's back though... Bob had settled in beautifully at his mum's. She was fussing around him but Jimmy wasn't impressed now that Scarlett had a new priority! Jamie tried to impress Iona by trying to make himself look older but he just seemed weird! He got jealous when he saw Iona flirting with Shona's security guard. Enough was enough - Shona told her sister to sort it out so she fired him. Tina tried to find out what was going on and Iona pretended it was all Shona's idea. Shona told Tina she'd need to speak to her son to sort it out. Eileen was annoyed that Sharon was still off sick AND she'd gone shopping with Raymond's credit card! Typically, Sharon used all her feminine wiles to get what she wanted. Raymond even offered to pay Sharon's wages whilst she's off sick!!! Malcolm was shocked to hear Archie had abandoned Liz, who was staying at a B&B. Gina wouldn't let Liz into her dad's home but Malcolm had other ideas and let Liz in for his birthday party. Gina went mad when he said he was letting Liz move in again, and offered an ultimatum. He chose Liz! Gina ended up on Ruth's doorstep and she tried, unsuccessfully, to make the peace between her mum and grandad. Archie told Liz he'd left her to get some money - he'd gone to see Rose and pretended to be Douglas! He then tried to force his way into Malcolm's house but wasn't impressed when Liz told him she was staying there. Gina sent him packing and made up with Liz.

Big Bob's parental skills are put to the test when he has to placate an irate Christina who's reeling from a barney with Molly. Later Iona witnesses Christina's dismissive behaviour to Big Bob and can't resist sticking her oar in, calling Christina a 'spoilt wee madam'. When gossiping with Molly and Liz, Iona calls Tatiana a scheming witch and Christina a manipulator which Big Bob overhears. He leaves, dejected and hurt. Iona pursues him to apologise, but it falls on deaf ears. Iona is told some home truths by Annie and Raymond - she's in denial and jealous of Tatiana's relationship with Big Bob and if she doesn't stop interfering, she'll risk losing him as a friend forever. Iona tracks down Big Bob at his work to apologise. It's reluctantly accepted on the basis that she never badmouths Tatiana or Christina again. Iona promises to be more loyal and offers to look after Christina tonight whilst Big Bob is at his gig. Sceptical, Big Bob agrees. Christina takes some convincing, but succumbs to the idea when she hears Nicole might come too. Gina hands over Christina's handbag, but Iona quickly snatches it from the clutches of nosey Molly.

Leyla is excited about today's arrival of Zinnie. While the boys are warned within an inch of their lives to behave and make her feel welcome, Nicole is trying to speak to Michael about the letters she found. As usual, Michael is distracted, but one thing gets his attention - another letter - 'Your sins will find you out'. Michael and Leyla are rattled. If this person knows about Michael writing prescriptions for Leo, or the dubious 'sectioning' of Ruth, he could get struck off and lose everything. Eileen has asked them for a meeting today and in their paranoia they suspect, being Ruth's aunt, she might have something to do with the letters. It's a red herring, Eileen was merely breaking the bad news that their funding for the drop-in centre has been withdrawn. Michael thinks the letters could be from Nick Morrison, or worse still, his wife, Hannah. After all, her marriage was ruined by Nicole's involvement with her husband. Michael wants answers and calls Hannah for a meeting.

They compromise that the job will be delayed to accommodate Jimmy's hospital commitment.
