If you're not easily offended, this will have you crying with laughter
DonkeyCorleone6 June 2005
The advantage of Frank's tough early life and the alcoholism he worked his way out of is that he has a wealth of killer stories now, some of which he goes through here. He has an excellent stand-up style and an easy way with words, some of them four-lettered, most of them funny. A lot of his material is self-deprecating, and the more risqué stories he tells are told in a style that allows him to be offensive without actually offending any but the most puritanical of souls. Look out especially here for the tale of him, David Baddiel and the disabled toilet at the "Loch Ness" premiere - that one had me laughing uncontrollably...

Frank Skinner Live at Birmingham Hippodrome

Warning: Spoilers
I had seen him on a couple of TV shows, such as panel shows, and bits and pieces of Baddiel & Skinner Un-Planned, but I had never seen Frank Skinner do any stand-up, and I am glad I gave him a chance. Live at the Birmingham Hippodrome theatre, this was a very funny show, and Skinner is interesting not to make an effort with clothing or costume, he just appears in some track-suit trousers and a football shirt, but I guess that's his thing. Anyway, almost the whole show is about his opinions, embarrassments and experiences during many forms of sex. He is crude, rude and very, very funny, more so than I expected in fact. Frank Skinner was number 5 on Britain's Favourite Comedian, and he was 26 on 100 Greatest Stand-Ups. Very good!
