I have seen several shorts done by Chel White and all of them have been very, very weird, freaky and experimental. However, this is NOT a bad thing as all the films were also wildly wonderful and well worth seeing. "Dirt" is a bit challenging even for Chel White fans--but it's strangely enjoyable (with an emphasis on STRANGEly).
The film appears to have been filmed without sound and is also in black & white. Sound effects were added later as well as bizarre narration. The story is about a weirdo who would play a game growing up where he and other kids could see how much dirt they could eat without becoming sick. The narrator was good at this and now has come to love eating dirt.
Okay, this film more than challenges Chel White fans--it's one of his least interesting and most bizarre films. But it's only 4 minutes long, so give it a try. You might just love it...or not.
