Who can resist the power of a title like ROBO-KICKBOXER?! It comes as little surprise that this was put out by the Godfrey Ho/Joseph Lai outfit IFD Film & Arts, and, made in 1992, this is a relatively late-stage movie from them. The obvious inspirations are ROBOCOP and KICKBOXER, but boxing bouts in the ring are limited to the opening and closing sequences, as amusingly cheesy as they are. The majority of the film is a routine crime thriller, the story chopped and changed and badly dubbed into English. Business as usual for IFD, then.
