When Pearce decides to do some comedy news spots for Conan O'Brien, he gets recognition fro women and garners some new fans. However, the rest of the LateLine gang disapproves of them, saying they hurt Pearce's credibility.
Al goes to jail for protecting an anonymous source but not before he takes Vic with him. In truth, Vic is covering for Gale, who accidentally learns the name of the source from Al. Gale is racked with guilt about getting Vic put in jail.
Raji has a chance to prove himself to the LateLine group when he can get a great guest for a show about an African nation. When the guest falls through Raji is left without a job. Al deals with a fan who's in love with him.
Raji and Al go undercover to buy an illegal gun for a show about gun control. Meanwhile, Gale watches Vic's daughter who lets it slip that Vic is in love with Gale, making things awkward between the two.
Al is invited to have a part in a movie called The Seventh Plague. However, he begins to dictate how the filming should be if the director, Rob Reiner, wants it to look realistic.
