I remember this film as a kid

One of the worst films in history, period. It totally distorts the meaning of the familiar spirit featured as part of the title. (The movie listed here is spelled incorrectly, by the way--the real name is Joniko and the Kush Da Ka. Kush Da Ka is the name of the river otter man, the familiar spirit that watches over the dead.) Now I ask you, how can a movie possibly expect to win an audience when a boy is paddling along a creek one minute, and is in ice-choked Glacier Bay the next? Stinko!! I was dragged along to see it with my parents when I was about 11 years old. I remember the line "If you hear the Kush Da Ka, put these in your ears". Kind of like looking away after you've seen the Medusa's eyes, or covering your ears after hearing the Sirens call. . . .
