On the last morning of their week together, Maxine has to rush Luke to hospital with Appendicitis. On her return from Paris, Helen confronts Luke regarding his affair.
With Maxine's birthday a couple of days away, she is upset because Luke cannot be with her. He promises however to telephone her on the stroke of midnight, which he doesn't. Then to make a bad day worse, Helen visits the Maxine's shop.
Luke hatches a plan with Simon to enable him to win Maxine back by spending more time with her. Then is accidentally locked in Maxine's home when she is away for the night.
Luke's afternoon at the beach with Maxine goes from bad to worse when, not only are his shirt and a shoe washed out to sea, but his next door neighbour sees him with Maxine.
Maxine decides to end the affair with Luke. Until she's unable to get the lid off a jar of Marmalade. Helen meanwhile, starts to sense that something is wrong with Luke.
Maxine decides to end the affair with Luke and refuses to speak to him, but then Helen informs Luke that she is going to Paris for a week. Luke then needs to find a way to tell Maxine that they can spend a week together.
