After a group of young animals accidentally break a window at Toad Hall, a paperchase is organised to channel their energies. With weasels entering the race can cheating be far behind.
Toad is very enthusiastic to set up a telephone system in the local area which his friends have mixed feelings about. Unfortunately the weasels are supplying the equipment at their prices.
Toad's latest craze is for astronomy and he is determined to make his mark in the science world by observing Halley's Comet from the rooftop of Toad Hall... if he can climb back down again that is.
Toad learns of a maze in the grounds of Toad Hall and sets about renovating it after he is inspired by a visit to Hampton Court Palace. Badger, Ratty and Mole join him for the grand reopening and explore it.
Whilst out walking, Badger learns from a young rabbit that the local school has been closed temporarily. Together he, Rat, Mole and Toad take it upon themselves to teach the youngsters though Toad's classes leave something to be desired.
Mole fails to join his friends as they prepare for the harvest festival. Ratty looks in on him and discovers that he has consumed a deadly mushroom by accident. Is a cure even possible.
Mr Toad returns from a trip to London and invites his friends to a gourmet night at Toad Hall, Toad has a little trouble with the soufflé, and the lamb and the potatoes.
There is a fire a Toad Hall. With no place to stay until the Hall can be fixed, Toad moves in with Mole causing havoc, and generally being a most unwanted houseguest!
A strange visitor turns up at the weasel's lair who persuades the henchman that the chief weasel needs to be replaced. The stranger then persuades the weasels to attack Toad Hall.
Ratty, Mole and Badger are trapped at Toad Hall during a snow storm, Toad tries to persuade his friends that Toad Hall is haunted by the ghosts of his ancestors.
