Enjoyable though buffoonish Europorn
lor_9 April 2015
European porn films in the '70s (both soft and hard) had a secret weapon - shooting on exotic globe-hopping locations. From EMMANUELLE to VANESSA, the classics gave fans something the usually claustrophobic American made product didn't, and that is the virtue of BANGKOK CONNECTION in the XXX field.

Unfortunately director Alain Payet opts for a slapstick approach in which our big-dicked hero, whose trip to the orient is financed by an inheritance from his deceased uncle, keeps getting himself into trouble. He humps a wide variety of French, German and Asian girls over the course of 80 minutes, but it's basically situation comedy.

Sort of the answer films to this nonsense were the Zebedy Colt/Roger Caine sex comedies shot in Europe. Add them all together and one wonders whether it would have killed anybody to keep the beautiful girls and impressive production values and maybe add something to the stew - like an interesting script and a competent director?

In a world of gonzo, the one-note story film is king, and that makes BANGKOK worth watching
