The star of this dire comedy is someone called Tommy Gamble, whose only film appearance this. Not very surprising given the total ineptness of his performance.I was unable to find any information about him on the web so must assume that he was a minor music hall comedian who they could get on the cheap as they could not afford George Form by or anyone half decent. The story, such as it is,has Gamble and Rigby become coast watchers for the Royal Navy.Predictably they accidentally become involved with a gang of fifth columnists who are going to try and sabotage something important. It comes as little surprise when Gamble and Rigby capture the gang.If it was once funny then,it isn't now.

Painfully bad comedy in which Tom Gamble and Edward Rigby play an incompetent father and son who join the river patrol service and uncover a spy ring. Not one laugh to be found anywhere. At least a young Michael Wilding looks amused.
Perfectly Dreadful

Garrulous and unfunny. The only moment of amusement furnished by this amateurish little potboiler is the perfunctory sketch of Hitler briefly seen on the wall of the back room were the enemy agent keeps his wireless which looks as if it was dashed off in about five minutes (which it probably was). The impersonation of Lord Haw Haw heard on the radio is down to the same dismal standard.
It's strange though to hear Jean Gillie at one point croaking the song rendered notorious by Maggie Smith in 'Oh! What a Lovely War'.
