The detective who talks to Amy Adams has more of a cliché TV series priest profile than a detective, the only thing missing is that white thing on the collar of his shirt.
Sweeney practically just appeared and is already dead.
From what I understand, there is a lot of timeline, in various phases of Amy Adams' life and also of other characters (such as the flashback, the detective arriving in the city for the first time and being suspicious of the people who already live there, while the police officer was suspicious of Mexicans) and we struggle to know what time it is, since there are no years on the screen.
The half-sister is so strange that she is no longer suspicious, just like their mother, but I don't rule out either of them, because of the dollhouse.
