The memories flood back big time of television in the 1980s, Magnum, P. I. being one of them. And of course the creator of Magnum, P. I., Don Bellisario, brought us Tales of the Gold Monkey. That explained why Mac in Magnum, P. I. was bumped off because the actor playing Mac, Jeff MacKay, had a major role as Corky in Tales of the Gold Monkey, but after this series itself got axed after one season, MacKay returned to Magnum, P. I. in the guise of a different character.
Anyway, sure there are inevitable comparisons to Raiders of the Lost Ark, but still Tales of the Gold Money was entertaining init.
