As so, many other people have said, I thought coming into this. It was strictly about popular mean girls who committed murders. Especially since the introduction has quotes from pop culture references, such as jawbreaker, mean, girl, Heathers.
I was fortunate to pick the first episode to watch being under the influence, which is in fact about a popular mean girl that committed murder so, after watching that episode, I thought OK the rest of them will be like this too. Not so much. So the next one I watched, was Goth girl gone, which has absolutely nothing to do with popular or mean girls, and is just the murder of the girl by two Rando guys.
Don't come into this with expectations because the title is deceiving.
