David Shore never bothered with realism or even believability. Remember Doctor House's "police problem"? What was real about that? Nothing. Just about as much is real in this episode. A 14-year-old girl "fires" her father as her gymnastics coach because she took a drug to enhance her breasts and he objected. IMMEDIATELY she says she will call the "team lawyer" and "emancipate". And just as immediately the lawyer in question start putting pressure on the hospital.

A few problems with that. One, sports lawyers make 7 figures easy. NO gymnastics team has the money to keep a lawyer on retainer. Hospitals on the other hand are a multi-million-dollar enterprises who can easily afford one "team lawyer". Or rather, a team of lawyers.

Second, every teenage girl who does gymnastics (ballet, athletics, etc) is SCARED of her breasts growing and getting "curves". The reason is simple - have you seen many top-heavy gymnasts with "curves" lately?

Third, to emancipate you must prove you have steady income from a legal source. What possible legal income can a 14-year-old gymnast have? Pawning plastic medals from her peewee meets?

And a plastic cherry on that wooden pie - the "chief of surgery" finds a solution by demanding the 14-year-old in question makes a tough decision about her father's surgery. For which you must be at least 18.

Lupus again, Mr. Shore?
