The Outlaws (2021– )

I started watching this out of idle curiosity and have kept viewing it, more out of habit than actual enjoyment as it's only mildly amusing.

Steven Merchant writes and appears in it, my son Jamie really likes him but for he is simply okay. He's certainly quirky and amusing in a geeky sort of way, but I do find him a trifle one dimensional.

Christopher Walken is good in whatever he appears in, I have to check out his other stuff, as I haven't seen that much with him in.

Daren Boyd is the only other actor that I know, and I only remember him a BBC television show. Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, as the character Richard McDuff. I don't want to be picky about his acting ability, it could just be that neither part really called for that much acting ability. Though I've been reminded of something that I had completely forgotten, that he was in the television comedy show Smack the Pony.

The other main characters are irritating, to a greater or lesser extent, starting with Rani and Christian, then Diane, Lady Gabriella and Myrna, each having their own quirks and annoyances.

The overall show is okay but the storylines, are somewhat unbelievable and I imagine, the Mary Whitehouse's of Bristol objecting strenuously, to the prevailing theme of drug peddling.

For me it was a shame that the show originally popped up on Amazon, but I have just watched series two on Netflix, which is much better so viewers are not limited, to where they can actually see it.

I don't want to give away anything of how series two ended, but there will have to be some amount of a rethink for the writers, to prepare the viewers for series three.
