JLA: Trapped in Time offers enough for DC universe fans to make it a must-watch, but it falls short of their best work

I recently rewatched JLA: Trapped in Time (2014) on MAX. The storyline begins in the future, where Lex Luthor, frozen after a historical battle with the JLA, is accidentally revived. He sends the Legion of Doom back in time to prevent Superman from becoming the hero who can stop him. Two future heroes pursue them into the Time Machine to thwart their plans.

Directed by Giancarlo Volpe (director of 19 episodes from Avatar: The Last Airbender), the film features the voices of Diedrich Bader (Office Space), Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina), Grey Griffin (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), and Fred Tatasciore (Team America: World Police).

There were aspects that I liked about this picture and some misses too. I didn't love the animation style or how Lex Luthor was depicted. The storyline and future super heroes were just okay. However, I did enjoy the array of heroes and villain, the delivery of their powers and the various battles were a lot of fun and worth a watch.

In conclusion, JLA: Trapped in Time offers enough for DC universe fans to make it a must-watch, but it falls short of their best work. I would give it a 5.5-6/10 but recommend seeing it once.
