If you are going to write a thriller where viewers know the character from the start, then you need to make it interesting. Emotionally and psychologically interesting. This is hard to do. Try The Fall, an excellent example.

I stuck with the series because I thought on the face of it, it had potential. You watch the first episode and know where its going. The second, third abd fourth are no shock.
