Girl House (2014)
1/10
A Good Opening Followed By A Lousy Movie
12 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I was intrigued by the clip of the opening which shows a couple of young girls humiliating a boy by laughing at the size of his equipment and calling him 'Loverboy'. Then he gets his revenge on one of the girls by arranging for her to have a cycling accident and you think OK, this is going to be about him covering it all up and going after the other girl, but no, suddenly we are catapulted years in the future where the surviving girl is sharing a house with other girls who don't mind letting paying viewers see them strut their stuff and then by an amazing coincidence, the humiliated kid shows up online as a customer using the handle 'Loverboy'. Yeh - like he would use the name they called him back then is as believable as Telly Savalas calling himself Baldy online. So he's waited like 20 years to get his revenge and he sits alone in the dark just so we know he's a nutter. (No explanations as to what he's been doing or how he managed to track down the girl in question.) Add to that a load of dialogue obviously written by a man who has no idea how women speak or behave. Acted by a lot of not very talented people and cut together to maximise all the violent deaths that occur. I was actually rooting for the bad guy.
