I had no idea where they would take this movie as I thought Insidious 2 was good enough to end the series on. The prequel wasn't great, but wasn't bad. But unfortunately for me this is the worst instalment.
The story didn't feel like an addition to the previous story, just felt like the same story rehashed 9 years later. Was predictable to be honest a little dull. It really struggled to gain my attention. Maybe after years of not watching the movies this might feel like a fun refresher of a great horror plot, but I have just watched all 4 in a week and the decline on this movie was very noticeable.
The movie is centred around Dalton and to be blunt he just wasn't a likeable character at all. He was supposed to be a rude, bratty teen but I feel like they went too far with it to the point where he was someone I just didn't enjoy being on screen.
It's a shame the series ends on this movie, but unfortunately it was a flat plot, that didn't share the same intensity, emotion and suspense as the other instalments.
