All of the Ernest films are timeless treasures, and this movie is one of the best of the series! For those who enjoy movies for light-hearted humor and silliness (and a fun escape from the daily grind), Ernest films are just what the doctor ordered! Highly recommended by this admittedly die-hard fan! Long live Ernest Worrell (through his films)! Thanks to Jim Varney and John Cherry for their creative genius. "Ernest in the Army," which hit the screen in 1998, has plot ties to the 1990's Middle East wars but seems timeless decades later given the endless US wars ever since then. It's a funny spoof on the real-life characters we must endure in those endless wars, and Jim Varney's Ernest is as funny as ever!
