After watching the OG Walking Dead show, I figured I've learned enough of Michonne to understand what this telltale video game was about to tell. And while significantly shorter than the other walking dead telltale games, it still tells a phenomenal story that packs its punch. Now, to people who've never watched the tv show or read the comics, I'm not entirely sure this game will be as captivating as it should be. The game still works by itself, but without context as to why in the beginning where Michonne is aimlessly walking in the woods suicidal, or the ending where they talk about her going back to her old group; people who haven't watched or read the show or comics will probably have questions, albeit maybe minor. But again, with knowing the backstory of everything, the game definitely kept me interested in getting every little detail I could.

Set within the Walking Dead comic universe, this 3 episode video game tells the story of michonne between issues 126 and 139 (from someone who hasn't read the comics, I guess it takes place roughly after the Neegan/Savior war). Michonne eventually finds friendship with a group of people on a boat, led by a man named Pete, and also for Walking Dead fans, introduces Siddiq as one of the crew members. Eventually you meet the antagonists of the story, Randal and Norma, who run a bayou community called Monroe. Now, if you're familiar with Telltale and Walking Dead, then you know the lines of good and evil are blurred since this new world everyone lives in is ruthless and unforgiving. Now, playing as Michonne, I tried to make every decision that I would think she'd make. Despite Samantha and Greg (2 characters you meet who the community Monroe is looking for) being jerks, and lying to me, I decided to help them out as much as I could, although Greg ends up getting killed. Escaping Monroe with Sam, we ended up eventually up at Sams house, where we meet the rest of her family, and eventually gets attacked by Randal and his group from Monroe. I decided to spare his life, mostly because A) Michonne isn't a person to just kill someone like that (especially after the Savior war) and B) he was the only leverage I had on Norma. So yea, I beat the hell out of him, punched him to a bloody pulp, but he was alive. And eventually Norma comes with her group, and man, despite Norma being a b***h, she did try and make a honest trade. But because of the high tensions (Gabby decided to kill one our men) and Randal making that fatal mistake attacking me after I released him, there was no peaceful resolution. I decided to kill Norma instead of letting her suffer but man, I wish I could of made Randal suffer more. The ending was pretty good, seeing a hopeful Michonne reluctant on meeting up with her old group (Rick, Ezekiel, ect) so maybe it is time for me to read the comics. For fans of Telltale and Walking Dead, I would definitely recommend. For fans of story based games, give this one a shot. It might turn you into a fan.
