We Finally Arrived...At The Bottom Of The Ocean
22 December 2023
Well, first of all, let's honor a universe that waited too long to be terminated. Now, that I gave a few seconds of attention to that "monumental" event, we can move on to what's more important today...the movie.

The first "Aquaman" movie at its best is an "okay" predictable CGI journey or briefly - B grade comic book movie.

"Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom"...oh boy, as if it wasn't enough that the studio had no faith in the movie and waited to lift the embargo for the reviews for the last possible moment. The movie is an underwater mess. It tries to be serious and funny and fails at both. The story is predictable from the tenth minute. Honestly the best thing I can say about the movie is Patrick Wilson's attempt to save it with his chemistry with Momoa's character and some good effects here and there.

Black Manta had a few moments more screen time than the previous movie, but again I wouldn't say it was the villain it should have been and that has nothing to do with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's acting skills, he is great.

I'm not even gonna start with Amber Heard, you already know all you need to know.

In the end, there is nothing memorable that we haven't already seen in the previous "Aquaman". In short, a completely forgettable superhero movie. I don't think it's worse than "Wonder Woman 1984", but it's certainly trying to take away that "glorious" title.

I believe in James Gunn and I hope starting in 2025 we will see the beginning of a coherent and well interconnected universe at last. The DC fans and the characters of this universe deserve it.
