Warning: Spoilers
Jack Stauber has always produced wacky and enjoyable content that I have adored through his career. Jack Stauber's Opal brings his signature weird, almost unsettling whimsy with a short cinematic approach. Opal embarks on an unfortunate and troubling journey through a mysterious house, full of disturbed characters and their near hypnotic melodies. With each member of the household clinging to their own addictions, it is Opal that they lean on, relying on her as their only pillar. The fast pacing puts you in Opals shoes, running from one problem to the next, rushing to her sweet escape. Though this paints a tragic picture, none of the songs felt too forgettable, with Jack's previous music being much more memorable and stand alone, without his iconic art style. While Jack Stauber's Opal is a great, quick watch, it quickly will fade from memory, with nothing special outside of the metaphors.
