Michael Curtiz needs little introduction, often being, rightfully, hailed as one of the all time greats of Hollywood history, if not the best - having provided a rich and ever impressive filmography of stellar dramas, film noir and everything in between.
This noir-ish drama is definitely a highlight in his career, and one that was a very anticipated watch for me.
The actors all do an incredible job, as one would expect when it comes to such legends, Paul Newman among several other very recognizable names. Very career defining, and some of the best in their careers, for sure. Excellent writing, very suspenseful.
The cinematography, cutting and editing is breathtaking, very much in line with Curtiz' style, and extremely beautifully put together.
Overall, definitely an incredible and masterful presentation, and one of Michael Curtiz' best. Highly recommended for any lover of film!
