The Montecito has a visitor. The only person who appears to be able to make Big Ed Deline cower in fear has come into town unannounced: his mother. June Lockhart is great as Bette Deline, and we get to learn plenty of fun facts - to his chagrin - about Ed. Very amusing scenes.
Elsewhere, Sam has a couple (played by Jane Lynch and Stan Putasca) in town who are kings of the Las Vegas coupon game, and set about having the cheapest holiday possible thanks to their collection of coupons. And, at the other end of the spectrum, a guest (Sean Astin, of 'Lord of the Rings' fame) wins big on the slot machines, then fakes his own death to disappear, not dealing well with his newfound fame.
