A Biltmore Christmas is a 2023 Hallmark Romance Fantasy starring One Tree Hill's star Bethany Joy Lenz(who was also in Royal Matchmaker),Kristoffer Polaha(who was last seen in WW1984 as the guy who's body was snatched by Chris Pine's charcther Steve Trainer) and Colton Little.
The story follows a young woman named Lucy Hardgrove (Lenz),a screenwriter who lands the job of a lifetime when she's hired to pen the script for a remake of the beloved 1947 holiday movie, "His Merry Wife" which was filmed in Biltmore Estate. It was also a hit with critics saying it's a holiday classic.
However the head of the Balsmore Studios isn't satisfied with the film's ending that Lucy wrote because it wasn't as good as the original's feel-good conclusion. So he decides to send Lucy to Biltmore Estate where the original was filmed in order to get some research and inspiration from the 1947 film.
While there, she finds a mysterious hourglass that transports her to the year 1947 and back to present day in 2023 within the blink of an eye. So Lucy decides to see her chance to uncover the truth about the movie's original ending. While on set, she meets the leading man himself Jack Huston (Polaha), and spends time with him to uncover the original film's origin. This of course complicates things as she starts to fall in love with him which of course will change the course of the films setting.
Will Lucy get back to the present day and correct the movies ending before it's too late or will her falling for Jack cause a stir?.
Overall it was a feel good film that reminded me of Plesantville meets The Majestic. If you like those films then you'll love this.
