When Ritchie asks "Where Did I Come From?", Rob decides to talk to his son about the events leading up to his birth...and a long flashback scene follows.
Laura is pregnant and due to deliver her baby soon. She's calm and relaxed but Rob is a mess. He's a bundle of nerves and it's hard to imagine a father-to-be being THAT worried about the pending birth. Again and again, Rob does all sorts of nutty things, such as sleeping in his clothes! It all culminates with Rob rushing home when Laura's contractions begin...and he ends up smashing into the cab parked in front of his house. What's next?
This is a completely unrealistic episode...but it's also quite funny and watching Dick Van Dyke rushing about like a looney is pretty funny. The humor is mostly physical...and he is excellent in such a role. Well worth seeing.
