If you want to understand the sensibilities of a young person in the early 80s, watch this movie. You don't find movies made with plots like this outside of this era. Back then anytime the plot of a movie revolved around young people playing video games and those games/computers somehow possibly brining the end of the world, we were there for it.
If you don't take it too seriously it's a fun "dramedy" that has enough action and quirky stuff to keep you interested till the end...even if you didn't live in the 80s. Sheedy and Broderick let their usual charm shine. If you like them in other movies you will like them in this.
