A young man and diving instructor assisted her to learn scuba diving .His aim was to take the world prize and continued even further exceeding his abilities sometimes putting his life at stakes . A very strong chemistry developed between them and they ended up becoming lovers.

Her mentor and companion, however, was highly initiating but also very obsessed with his goal of winning the prize this obsession brought him into conflict with his team. He had reached 178 meters of depth and he insisted that she go down even further.
Roxanne won a depth prize and continued for her next step by going even further down.
