Proper epic finale.....

Warning: Spoilers
Now this is how you do a season finale in my opinion and it still never gets old. I remember when I first watched this episode back in the day and being completely blown away by it's sheer epicness. There was so much truly great character work as well as some top notch action sequences.

First of all Christopher Eccleston should be lauded for his funny, quirky, dark and tortured turn as the newest incarnation of the Doctor, he really was excellent and his legacy should never be forgotten.

Secondly Bille Piper killed it as Rose and her chemistry with Eccleston was superb and fully believable, they had more a father daughter dynamic which I enjoyed. I totally got her reaction to the Doctor sending her back home. How could you ever go back to normal every day life after seeing and experiencing what she has. I also enjoyed her mum and Mickey's honest reactions to Rose and her situation, there was a real awkwardness to some of the scenes which I enjoyed.

Rose taking in the TARDIS was also very well done it was powerful and really upped the ante of the finale. It felt right and fitting that the Daleks would be the big bad for this first finale.

Overall just 10's across the board for this opening series in the Doctor Who revival and watching it all again 18 yrs later it still feels just as good.
