I can say that some parts of this movie have similarities with 'The Half of It.' I highly recommend watching 'The Half of It' if you're curious or interested in a storyline involving same-sex attraction. I can point out scenes that are quite similar: (1) when David and Laras are switching the ball on the football field, which resembles the pingpong scenes, (2) Laras' imagination in a not-so-hidden place in the forest with water, which is reminiscent of scenes at Aster Flores' secret place, and (3) the football theme, the setup, and the realization that David didn't fall in love with Lala (instead, he feels that way about Laras).
This is just my personal opinion, and you can validate it by watching the movies I mentioned earlier. I would rate this movie 6.5/10, while the half of it 9.5/10.
