Agnieszka Holland uncompromisingly exposes the lies of the Polish government. In her latest film, she shows the drama of refugees from the Middle East who, deceived by intermediaries, have spent the rest of their savings in search of a better life. In the film we follow the fate of a refugee family, border guards and activists. The picture shows the cruelty of the Belarusian military, as well as Polish border guards blindly following the orders of their superiors. The film focuses primarily on the drama of the refugees, but does not overlook the internal problems of the border guards, who not only suffer from remorse, but also from the enormous psychological burden that accompanies any service. These people are also victims of the brazen political game played by the Polish authorities. An important, difficult, must-see film!
