Warning: Spoilers
The biggest little city in the world is the setting for this juicy murder mystery where Sidney Toler's Charlie Chan agrees to help accused killer Phyllis Brooks prove her innocence, found with the deceased after she'd been stabbed by scissors. Louise Henry is another soon to be divorced woman who has been involved with Brooks' ex to be, and she takes great pleasure in tossing it in Brooks' face. Pretty much everyone in the room has good reason to hate this female.

There are plenty of suspects including an estranged husband (Morgan Conway), doctor Ricardo Cortez and the deceased's maid (Iris Wong) who entices #2 son Jimmy (the wonderful Victor Sen Yung), an able detective himself. A fun supporting cast includes Slim Summerville as local law enforcement rather cynical ("Half of Reno's population are lawyers".) Toler's Charlie may have his work cut out for him, but all the audience needs to do is sit back and enjoy.
